Feeding plants is like feeding people. Solid, well balanced feeds at regular intervals
produce good healthy specimens! Liquid and soluble fertilisers do not replace solid,
granular mineral fertilisers.
PALMS
At planting time use Monsoon Tablets (12 month slow release) plus Tropigro Nurserycote
4 month slow release palm food.
For young palms up to two years after planting use alternate applications of Tropigro
10-97 and Tropigro Nurserycote every 3-4 months. Be sure to put the fertiliser under your
mulch.
Palms two years in the ground add 10-97 every three months.
TROPICAL FRUITS (including banana, papaya [paw paw] & mango)
Tropigro 10-97 is best applied @ 500 grams per year of age.
- 1 Application at flowering.
- 1 Application after picking fruit.
- 1 Application mid way between above applications.
At planting time Monsoon Tablets plus 50 grams 10-97 will get fruit trees off to a
great start.
SHRUBS, TREES
Use Tropigro 10-97 every 2-3 months. Prune shrubs back hard prior to application.
ORCHIDS
Tropigro 6 month Tropical Osmocote is the ultimate Orchid fertiliser. An occasional
spray with Liquid 10-97 gives an added boost.
ANNUAL FLOWERS AND VEGETABLES
One week prior to planting work 10-88 and 10-97 into your soil. During the growing
season use Tropigro 3-4 month Osmocote or Tropigro Liquid 10-97. Refer to labels for
rates.
LAWNS
Mastergreen, applied every 2-3 months in the dry season will greatly reduce water
consumption as well as giving your lawn a rich green colour.
A well fed lawn is far tougher than an under fed one.
SHADE HOUSES
Use Tropigro Osmocote on potted plants plus weekly sprays with Liquid 10-97 for best
results.
Remember: Liquid & soluble fertilisers are only supplements. There is no
substitute for solid fertilisers. |
