Granules or Tablets? The Importance of Trace Elements
The application of N, P & K without trace elements in new soils is a waste of NPK.
Any nursery or field planting fertiliser should contain a full range of trace elements.

The Importance of Slow Release of
having a High Analysis
Since the nutrient is being released slowly it is critical for a slow release
fertiliser to have a concentrated formula.
Additional phosphate in conventional form is easy and cheap to add to soil mixes.
Phosphate is least likely to leach. So the P content can be relatively low in relation
to the N & K.

Granules or Tablets?
Granules allow even distribution of fertilisers through the potting media or around the
plant.
Tablets are not suitable for oil palm due to the direct connection of groups of roots
to individual fronds.
Tablets encourage Root Balling, which can cause severe problems after planting in the
field.
Granules use a more sophisticated method of controlling release.
